The Assistant Technical Superintendent shall fulfil the following requirements:
- A marine degree from a university, a marine academy or college or equivalent working education in the shipping industry;
- Good sense of responsibility and self-motivation;
- Good command of the English language;
- Good knowledge of the marine industry and applicable Rules and Regulations;
- Good technical knowledge of the vessels assigned to them;
- Knowledge about purchasing and budget cost control.
The Assistant Technical Superintendent is responsible for:
- Following up shipboard quality assurance system requirements as assigned by the Technical Fleet Manager;
- Monitoring performance, technical and operational conditions of ships;
- Being adequately conversant with the Company’s Management System;
- Implementing effectively the Company’s Management System;
- Contributing to the development of new or the amendment of existing procedures;
- Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement;
- Assisting the Technical Superintendents in scheduling repairs and dry-docking to ensure that ships are fully certified according to international standards and requirements;
- Assisting in the follow up of insurance and claims related matters under close cooperation of the relevant Technical Superintendent;
- Providing support to the shipboard management in respect of technical and operational matters
