The Assistant Technical Superintendent shall fulfil the following requirements:
A marine degree from a university, a marine academy or college or equivalent working education in the shipping industry;
Good sense of responsibility and self-motivation;
Good command of the English language;
Good knowledge of the marine industry and applicable Rules and Regulations;
Good technical knowledge of the vessels assigned to him;
Knowledge about purchasing and budget cost control.
The Assistant Technical Superintendent is responsible for:
Following up shipboard quality assurance system requirements as assigned by the Technical Fleet Manager;
Monitoring performance, technical and operational conditions of ships;
Being adequately conversant with the Company’s Management System;
Implementing effectively the Company’s Management System;
Contributing to the development of new or the amendment of existing procedures;
Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement;
Assisting the Technical Superintendents in scheduling repairs and dry-docking to ensure that ships are fully certified according to international standards and requirements;
Assisting in the follow up of insurance and claims related matters under close cooperation of the relevant Technical Superintendent;
Providing support to the shipboard management in respect of technical and operational matters.
