Job Description
Columbia Group is seeking to recruit an Accountant to be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing daily accounting transactions, VAT submissions, assisting with monthly and quarterly closings, and supporting management with financial reporting and analysis for a portfolio of companies. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the accounting of a portfolio of companies.
- Record and reconcile all accounting transactions.
- Prepare and process invoices, receipts, supplier and customer payments.
- Assist in month-end, quarterly, and year-end closings and reconciliations.
- Maintain proper filing of financial and accounting documents.
- Liaise with suppliers, auditors and group companies.
- Ensure adequate liquidity across the portfolio of companies to cover operational, CAPEX and funding requirements.
- VAT and VIES preparation and submission.
- Preparation of provisional tax computations.
- Preparation and review of management accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of business plan for group companies.
- Review of audited financial statement and tax computations provided by auditors before finalisation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures.
- Assist with various ad hoc reporting and tasks.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g. ACA/ ACCA) will be considered an advantage.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and VAT.
- Knowledge of consolidation processes will be considered an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Experience with accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Effective verbal and written communication with a wide range of individuals.
