The Fleet Safety Officer is responsible for:
- Reviewing and analysing safety performance of the Fleet in close cooperation with the QSHE Manager;
- Monitoring and analysing safety key performance indicators;
- Maintaining and encouraging a robust safety culture as well as environmental awareness and energy efficiency within the Company in close cooperation with the QSHE Manager;
- Being adequately conversant with the Company’s Management System;
- Implementing effectively the Company’s Management System;
- Contributing to the development of new or the amendment of existing procedures;
- Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement;
- Participating in risk management activities;
- Participating in incident investigations;
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and yearly figures and statistics;
- Reviewing and monitoring follow-up of incidents and hazardous occurrences;
- Compiling and editing the quarterly SHEQ Bulletin;
- Reporting to the QSHE Manager / DPA trends or issues which may require additional follow-up activities.
The Fleet Safety Officer shall have the following qualifications:
- A university degree and/or at least two years relevant work experience with Columbia Shipmanagement;
- A good command of the English language;
- Good leadership, controlling and communication skills as well the ability to work within a team.
