From crew eLearning and Fuel EU compliance, to AI-powered emissions data management, we make ship management more efficient and insightful.
Together, we are creating smarter, greener, and more connected future for the maritime industry.
Our partnership with OneLink is a key part of Columbia Group’s digital strategy, offering 24/7 fleet monitoring to boost efficiency and reduce costs across the maritime sector. It provides tools for route, speed, and fuel optimisation, energy management, emission tracking, and commercial analytics.
Tailored to each client’s needs, the POCR ensures transparency and real-time oversight — from pre-voyage planning to post-voyage analysis. Available to all maritime operators, its features include an intelligent alert system, safety monitoring with geofencing, AI-driven data analysis, and expert support around the clock.
At Columbia, we are at the forefront of industry regulations and decarbonisation, with EmissionLink as a key innovation. EmissionLink is a comprehensive solution that simplifies emissions management and ensures compliance with FuelEU and EU ETS regulations through advanced technology and expert advice.
Offering support from data management to legal guidance, it helps shipowners and operators navigate regulations smoothly. Available independently from our vessel management services, EmissionLink provides flexible, expert support for all maritime operators aiming for environmental compliance and sustainability.
Our partnership with SmartSea is redefining maritime digital infrastructure. By integrating ship-to-shore data into a single, seamless platform, SmartSea delivers full connectivity across the supply chain, streamlines operations, and enables real-time decision-making.
This is more than automation — it is about empowering our crews and shore teams with the information they need to work smarter, faster, and safer. SmartSea’s capabilities enhance performance monitoring, reduce downtime, and optimise voyage planning, driving efficiency while supporting our sustainability goals.
At Columbia, we understand that continuous training and lifelong learning are vital for both our crew and office employees, directly contributing to higher motivation, improved safety, and more efficient vessel operations.
To support this, we have invested in advanced training centres worldwide, a comprehensive learning management system, hologram training and a dynamic eLearning platform offering interactive, tailored courses accessible in the classroom and on mobile devices. Embracing innovation, we incorporate holographic and virtual reality technologies to create immersive training experiences that better prepare our crews during shore time, enhancing safety and performance during rotations. Our commitment to developing our people through cutting-edge education sets us apart and drives our mission to be the leading service provider across maritime, logistics, leisure, and renewable sectors.
We are proud to be a hub of innovation shaping the digital ship of the future.
Partnering with maritime experts and digital innovators, at Columbia Group we deliver cutting-edge solutions for vessel IT, navigation, and communication. As new regulations and digitalisation reshape the industry, we provide tailored consultancy for ship owners on NavCom challenges. Our expertise supports not only the Columbia fleet but also third-party vessels, helping clients navigate the evolving digital maritime landscape and stay ahead of industry advancements.
Columbia Group is proud to be one of eight consortium partners participating in Cyberfort, a European-funded initiative focused on enhancing the cyber resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and streamlining compliance with the upcoming Cyber Resilience Act (CRA).
As digital technologies continue to evolve, so too do the risks. Cyberfort aims to help SMEs navigate this landscape with greater confidence and resilience.
The EU-Funded Initiatives Include:
FLEETfor55
The EU-funded FLEETfor55 project aims to develop a roadmap for cost-effective, sustainable adoption of energy efficiency technologies across short sea, inland waterway, and high seas vessels, supporting the EU’s ‘Fit for 55’ 2030 targets. It will assess six retrofit and four new vessel designs using a design-for-operation approach to boost efficiency and environmental compliance. A web-based decision support system will enable rapid evaluation and benchmarking with KPIs aligned to EU and international standards.
NH3CRAFT
NH3CRAFT focuses on designing next-generation, safe, and commercially viable ammonia storage systems for ships. The project will demonstrate a 1,000m³ liquid ammonia storage system at 10 bar pressure on a 31,000 DWT vessel and study five additional vessel types to refine storage tank designs and scalability.
BlueBARGE
BlueBARGE aims to develop an optimal power barge for offshore green energy supply, supporting EU and IMO emission targets with commercialisation planned by 2030. The project will create containerised energy modules, address integration challenges, and ensure regulatory compliance to drive maritime electrification and decarbonisation.
DECAtrust
DECAtrust will enhance transparency, traceability, and efficiency in maritime through digitalisation. It will build a scalable platform with a digital toolkit to simplify emissions tracking and certification, support alternative fuels, and optimise operations, promoting collaboration toward decarbonisation.
MDigi-I
MDigi-I will establish new research infrastructure to foster maritime digitalisation technologies that improve safety, security, and efficiency, advancing the economic and environmental sustainability of shipping and marine transport.
